The Kuwaiti Embassy held ‘Kuwait Forum’

The Kuwaiti embassy held a symposium titled ‘Kuwait Forum’ at the Embassy in Tokyo, in the co-organization of Mr. Koh Aoki, Representative of NPO Active Middle International Association. Kuwaiti Ambassador to Japan Abdul Rahman Al-Otaibi gave a lecture regarding the State of Kuwait to the audiences from various professions and occupations of Japanese people. The lecture of consists of the Kuwaiti history and the general information covering its economy and social structures, as well as the bilateral friendly relation between Japan and Kuwait. On his lecture, H.E. Mr. Al-Otaibi appealed to the audiences that ‘In 2011, a special relation took place between Kuwait and Japan’ referring to the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between the two countries.

‘And this year, the solidarity between Japan and Kuwait became stronger especially after the March 11 Earthquake and Tsunami in the north east Japan. Kuwaiti people, at all levels, got up in order to help Japan as much as we can’, he emphasized. The state of Kuwait, under the instructions of H.H. the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahamd Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, announced the donation of five million barrels of oil to Japan. H.E. Mr. Al-Otaibi also explained that Japan was of a great support to the Kuwaiti sovereignty during the Gulf Crisis and participated into the International Coalition for the liberation from Iraq in 1991. The audiences were very keen on enriching their understanding about Kuwait by having a discussion with H.E. Mr. Al-Otaibi and Mr. Saad Almehaini, First Secretary, during the dinner time with the Kuwaiti authentic foods.

The audience also enjoyed the Arabic Oriental music, played by the professional Japanese musicians.
