H.E. Mr. Al-Otaibi, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Japan Briefed on Reconstruction Progress by the Japanese Red Cross Society

H.E. Mr. Abdul Rahman Al-Otaibi, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Japan and Abdulaziz Al-Dalah, the Third Secretary of the Embassy received higher ranking officials of the Japanese Red Cross Society at his office in the Embassy and briefed on the reconstruction progress of the three prefectures of Miyagi, Iwate and Fukushima whose coastal areas are seriously damaged by the East Japan Great Earthquake occurred on March 11, 2011.

Before the briefing, Mr. Yoshiki Noguchi, Deputy Director General, Disaster Management and Social Welfare Department and Mr. Takayuki Yamamoto, Director, Planning and Coordination Division, International Department, Operations Sector conveyed the message of gratitude and appreciation by Honorable Tadateru Konoe, President of the Japanese Red Cross Society, for the Government and people of the State of Kuwait for the crude oil donation worth 40 billion Japanese yen delivered in October 2011 and additional 2 million Japanese yen donation delivered in July 2012 to the Japanese Red Cross Society for the relief and reconstruction of the disaster-struck areas on behalf of the beneficiaries of the aids.

The Japanese Red Cross Society officials briefed H.E. Mr. Al-Otaibi on the progress of the ongoing projects initiated by the prefectural and municipal governments in the three prefectures for the sake of restoration of daily lives of the victims of the disaster by making use of the donation from Kuwait. H.E. Mr. Al-Otaibi wished the donation would be a help to eliminate sufferings and hardships of the victims of the disaster in the region and expressed his hope to visit the projects sites to observe the visible outcome of the aids next year.
